Wednesday 2.11 and Thursday 2.12 Antonio worked with Gustavo and Justo, two potential operators from the community to assemble the lamella in the sedimentation tanks. We decided for the next plant it might be worth the cost to have the lamella cut professionally to have a more elegant looking final product.
Friday 2.13 8 plaques were complete that we tested inside the sedimentation tanks to finalize the dimensions of the floc weir. We decided to extend the pipe for draining the sedimentation tank to begin at the same point where the floc weir hits the bottom of the sedimentation tank. We will then condition the pipe (with heat) to fit underneath the supports for the plaques. (The 'Plaque supports' refer to the lining on the bottom of the sedimentation tanks which support the plaques and also serve to drain the tanks. They form a rectangular shape with the bottom of the tanks, which is why we will need to condition the circular pipe to fit inside.)
