Tuesday 2.10, we finalized all the measurements in the sedimentation tanks and discussed the floc weir. We gave measurements for the plaques that will control the flow into the sedimentation tanks coming from the channel. We also decided where the pipes coming from the entrance tank would lead into the bathroom.

...

Friday 2.13 8 plaques were complete that we tested inside the sedimentation tanks to finalize the dimensions of the floc weir. We decided to extend the pipe for draining the sedimentation tank to begin at the same point where the floc weir hits the bottom of the sedimentation tank. We will then condition the pipe (with heat) to fit underneath the supports for the plaques. (The 'Plaque supports' refer to the lining on the bottom of the sedimentation tanks which support the plaques and also serve to drain the tanks. They form a rectangular shape with the bottom of the tanks, which is why we will need to condition the circular pipe to fit inside.)

CCC Study

on Tuesday 2.13 we met with Lizera Polanco Barahona, Mirna Argueta and Oscar Membreno of SANAA to discuss the terms of the CCC study. SANAA agreed to provide the technicians to monitor the CCC's in the communities that we will use for the study. SANAA has chosen 5 communities for the study (3 that will have the CCC installed, and 2 that will serve as a contol) in an area that SANAA currently has budgeting for.
Antonio will give an introduction to the study next Monday 2.23 to SANAA technicians and a more formal presentation on how the CCC's operate on 3.2.09. Antonio will make the contacts with the Junta's of these communities to evaluate their interest in this project. The Junta will be responsible for monitoring the pH, turbidity and chlorine residual.
